F1 News: Fans Question Safety Of Losail International Circuit After Chaotic Qatar GP

Fans have been questioning the safety of the Qatar Grand Prix.

Max Verstappen took yet another victory under the lights of the Losail International Circuit at the Qatar Grand Prix this evening. Joining the Red Bull driver on the podium were both McLaren drivers, Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris who finished second and third, respectively. However, the chaotic race was not an easy ride.

With a track temperature at around 37 degrees celsius, many of the drivers struggled with the extreme heat. Logan Sargeant was forced to retire and was later assessed by the medical team for dehydration, Esteban Ocon revealed after the race that he had been throwing up in his helmet for about two laps, and Alex Albon was also seen my the medics after needing help to get out of his car.

Fans have been discussing the issue on social media since.

"'Just passing out in the car in the high speed corners [...] the last 20/25 laps you can't really see anything cause you're fading when you're going through those corners.'

"This is just insane and way too dangerous omg"

"So far as i am aware….
"- Esteban Ocon threw up at lap 12
"- Logan Sargeant retired in the middle of the race due to feeling unwell
"- Lance Stroll immediately went to the ambulance
"- Alex Albon struggled to get out of the car
"- Max Verstappen and Oscar Piastri could barely stand up with the interviews
"- Valtteri Bottas said it was 'torture'
"- Lando Norris and Charles Leclerc confirmed multiple drivers fainted.
"what is @fia gonna do about it? nothing."

"@fia. Unbelievable that they see pilots vomiting and fainting, and do nothing about it. The Qatar GP should not exist, it is an abomination to F1."

"Circling back to the #QatarGP for a sec, the amount of drivers that needed medical attention after the race is a huge problem and something the FIA needs to address in scheduling. The top 3 could barely talk to DC in their interviews."
