The Goodwood Festival of Speed is a revered assembly within the motorsport community, known for celebrating the evolution of automotive technology and racing heritage. This year’s theme, 'Horseless to Hybrid – Revolutions in Power,' aims to explore the progression of automotive propulsion, spanning over 130 years of innovation. Williams Racing’s choice to showcase the FW08, driven by Keke Rosberg to the 1982 Drivers’ Championship, embodies this theme by highlighting a pivotal moment in their storied 47-year history. The FW08, known for its superior aerodynamics and competitive spirit, symbolises the innovative drive that has characterized Williams Racing’s pursuit of excellence - one that Vowles has truly awakened.

The team’s appearance at Goodwood is eagerly anticipated, with Alex Albon returning for his second year and Logan Sargeant making his debut. They, alongside Vowles, who took on the role of Team Principal with the ambition of steering Williams back to championship success, and Lia Block, a rising star in the Williams F1 Academy and daughter of the late Ken Block, will engage with fans and partake in the hill climb, a hallmark of the Goodwood experience.

James Vowles shared his enthusiasm, stating:

"We are looking forward to being at this year's Goodwood Festival of Speed and sharing our passion for motorsport with fans from around the world.

"The Festival of Speed is such a beloved and unique event and gives us the opportunity to celebrate the rich heritage of Williams Racing and motorsport as a whole. It will be a dream come true for me to drive a title-winning heritage Williams F1 car.

"We can't wait to take on the hill climb and put on a show for the incredible crowds that gather at Goodwood each year."

Echoing this sentiment, the Duke of Richmond, founder of the Goodwood Festival of Speed, expressed his delight at Williams Racing's participation:

“I am delighted that Williams Racing are joining us at the Festival of Speed this year with such a stellar line-up of drivers and the FW08, which so brilliantly aligns with our theme, ‘Revolutions in Power’.

"Our fans are always hugely excited to see Formula 1 teams, cars, and drivers in action and, like them, I’m very much looking forward to watching Alex, Logan, James, and Lia take to the Hill.”

The event is scheduled from the 11th to the 14th of July, 2024. See you there.
