Monza is set to not only host the Italian Grand Prix this weekend but also the next stage of filming for Lewis Hamilton's F1 film.

The Formula 1-themed film, earlier scheduled to be shot at Zandvoort, will now continue filming during the Italian Grand Prix weekend at Monza, as highlighted by La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Previously, the British Grand Prix had also served as a location for the movie, with unique provisions made, such as allocating a specialised pit box for film-related activities. Brad Pitt could be seen taking the Silverstone track in a Formula 2 car that has been adapted to look like an F1 car. The current driver-line-up will also feature in the movie, presumably as cameos of themselves. The Hungarian race circuit also featured in the film, with a focus on stunt drivers taking the lead.

In the forthcoming Monza shoots, Pitt, portraying the character of Sonny Hayes, will be in the limelight. Pitt's role dives deep into the story of a once-retired racing legend who returns to the challenging world of Formula 1, aiming to mentor an up-and-coming racer, a character brought to life by actor Damson Idris.

The much-anticipated film, "Apex", has garnered attention from both movie and racing aficionados. While the exact release date remains a mystery, it's confirmed that the film will be available on platforms like Apple+. Adding a touch of authenticity to the production is the association of Dawn Apollo Films, co-produced by F1 champion, Lewis Hamilton.
