F1 News: Las Vegas Residents Hit Out At Formula One - "Living Here Has Been A Nightmare"

The world might be excited about the Las Vegas GP but residents are furious as of now.

Everything about the Las Vegas Grand Prix is grand. From being the third longest track in the world that goes through the iconic Las Vegas Strip, hotels, and casinos like Wynn and Caesars Palace to actual Formula 1 cars being put on display around town.

After all, it is an occasion where the entertainment capital of the world meets the world's fastest racing. However, behind the hype and the excitement exists all the work and preparation to make an event of such scale successful. I'm talking about the infrastructure that is being built to accommodate an event of this magnitude.

The roads around the Las Vegas Strip that are a part of the 3.8 miles-long circuit are being repaved as per F1 standards and the work is being carried out by Liberty Media contractors. Not only the roads but the necessary infrastructure required for the race is being built around the circuit.

However, residents living in Las Vegas and especially those who work on and around the strip have been furious as a result of the suffering caused to them by roadworks, causing traffic jams, dust, noise, and delays.

Users have expressed their plight on Reddit which gives an idea of the troubles being caused to them.

One user wrote:

Living here has been a nightmare during the repaving. Most people in Vegas are pissed at F1 between that and how they're trying to charge everyone extra if they have a view of the track at all.

Another user who has been to the strip understands how bad the situation could be right now:

While the images show the paving progress as of August, users have questioned if the track would be complete by November this year.
