F1 News: Unseen Footage Of Mercedes Monaco GP Double Pit Stop Wows Fans

Fans have praised the Mercedes team as footage of their Monaco Grand Prix double pit stop has been released.

Footage of Mercedes double pit stop during the hectic Monaco Grand Prix has been released, leaving fans showering the Brackley-based squad with praise over the nail-biting moment. 

Double pit stops always raise the tension of a Grand Prix as the team attempts to carry out a pit stop for both cars one immediately after the other. The aim is to do this without hindering the second car, however, fans have seen it all too many times where it does not go to plan. 

This time, however, the Mercedes team managed to pull the double pit stop off well despite the right rear of George Russell's W14 being a bit tricky to remove. 

Sharing the moment to social media, Dan from the Engine Braking Podcast, posted:

"Man, they missed this on the TV but that double pit stop was cutting it close!"

Fans were quick to react to the moment, with one pointing out that Hamilton's pit stop was actually faster than Russell's despite him being second. They commented:

"It’s not often that on a double stack, the second car has the faster stop"

Someone else responded:

"Cutting it close or times to perfection"

Another fan jokingly commented about the rear gunman, they wrote:

"Right rear gunman must've been sh***ing it knowing Lewis was on his way! Gotta say we'll done to stay cool enough to perform it without any major incident in the end"

Someone else praised the team for being able to reset so quickly when the rear right tyre proved difficult to remove. They commented:

"Heck of a job to reset and sort the second one properly"
