Fernando Alonso has celebrated third place on the podium at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix but has since been handed a further ten-second penalty, putting him back into fourth place.

The Spanish driver was handed a five-second penalty at the beginning of the race due to being misplaced in his grid box, which he served during a pitstop.

However, after an investigation from the race stewards, it was found that the Aston Martin team lifted the car on the jack stand before the five-second penalty was finished. This resulted in another ten-second penalty applying to the driver, similar to one of Esteban Ocon's penalties from the Bahrain Grand Prix

Brutally, the two-time champion had already given his post-race interview on his 100th podium finish as well as the podium celebrations.

As a result, George Russell has taken third place for the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix in the Mercedes.
