Former F1 driver Johnny Herbert has spoken about Jos Verstappen's reaction to Sergio Perez winning the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, which has been flooding the internet since the moment was caught on camera.

Perez started the race in Jeddah in pole position before going on to dominate the race and take the victory. Max Verstappen started in fifteenth after suffering from a driveshaft issue during qualifying and picked his way up the field to finish in second place.

Despite Verstappen's fantastic performance, as well as Perez's, his father Jos struggled to show any enthusiasm for the Mexican driver's first win of the 2023 season. Instead, the former driver looked on blankly as the team celebrated around him.

As well as F1 fans going crazy for the moment on social media, former driver Johnny Herbert reflected on the moment during the Lift the Lid podcast calling for Verstappen to "be respectful". He explained:

“It was rude, but I suppose it is what you expect from Jos.

"He could have said 'well done‘ and put his arm on him or something like that. Of course he is passionate, in that he wants his son to win as many races as he possibly can.

"I like Jos but he has that little edge to him. That’s a sign of frustration that sometimes he shouldn’t show the world, and I don’t think he should be so rude towards Sergio.

"Be respectful."
