Aston Martin driver, Lance Stroll, has finally shared the nitty-gritty details of his pre-season cycling accident that nearly derailed his hopes of participating in the Bahrain Grand Prix.

The Canadian driver suffered a ghastly fracture and displacement in his right wrist, a fracture in his left wrist, a partial fracture in his left hand, and yet another fracture in the big toe on his right foot.

But Stroll is not one to give up easily, and he was determined to race come hell or high water. With the season's start just around the corner, the timing could not have been worse. His medical team initially believed he would not only miss testing but realistically the first few races of the season. However, the tenacious driver had other ideas.

48 hours after the accident, Dr. Javier Mir performed surgery on Stroll's right wrist. The medical maestro gave Stroll some optimistic news: if he worked hard, he could race in Bahrain. And guess what? Against all odds, he did!

But the road to recovery was not without its bumps and bruises. The fractures in his left hand/wrist and toe weren't suitable for fixation, so he had to rely on a more conservative approach to heal his other injuries. The determined driver spent every waking moment trying to combine everything that could help, even if it was by just 0.5%.

Initially, progress was slow, and Stroll needed help with daily tasks at home. But each day got better, and once the cast came off on day 4, the impossible became possible: he had a chance of racing in Bahrain.

Under the guidance of his medical team, Stroll underwent an intensive rehab program that helped him restore mobility and strength in his wrists. It required hard work, persistence, and the unwavering support of his friends and family. But as we all know, the hard work paid off - Stroll crossed the finish line in Bahrain with his team and fellow drivers.

Stroll's Instagram post, which accompanied behind-the-scenes footage and photos of his path back to fitness, was an emotional one. The Canadian driver expressed gratitude for everyone who supported him and sent kind notes and wishes.

And we're grateful for Stroll's recovery too! Aston Martin left Bahrain second in the points standings after Stroll's P6 and Fernando Alonso's podium for P3. We can't wait to see what Stroll and his team can do at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.
