McLaren has undergone a shocking restructuring in response to their disappointing start to the 2023 season. The team, known for its iconic papaya livery, has been struggling to live up to pre-season expectations, leading to significant changes in personnel. And now, Lando Norris has responded to the news of the restructuring.

The most significant news is the departure of executive technical director James Key. Peter Prodromou will now head up the aerodynamics department, and Neil Houldey will lead on engineering and design. In addition, David Sanchez, who recently left Ferrari has been confirmed to be rejoining McLaren in 2024 as head of performance.

Piers Thynne, the chief operating officer for the F1 team, will move into an expanded role. These changes are expected to have a long-term impact on the team, setting them on a foundation to build on over the years.

Lando Norris, who has been linked with moves to Red Bull, Mercedes, and Ferrari, remains committed to McLaren. The talented young driver is currently on a long-term contract with the Woking team and has reiterated his dedication to helping them through this challenging period. He expressed his optimism for the team's future on Twitter, saying:

"From team changes to major infrastructure upgrades, every single one of us is working flat out to get McLaren back to the top. Seeya soon 'straya [Australia]"
