Lewis Hamilton Is Here To Stay As He Confirms Future In Mercedes F1 Team

Hamilton admits that he is "planning to stay a little bit longer".

Lewis Hamilton is here to stay, with him expressing his want to remain in F1 during the Mercedes W14 presentation this morning.

While the 2022 season was a struggle for the 7-time world champion, it's done nothing but keep him focused and more motivated to win. And during the presentation where they revealed their new 2023 championship contender, the Brit admitted that he "missed driving" during the Winter break and is excited to begin racing again.

"There are almost 8 billion people in the world and only 20 of us get to do this and only two of us get to drive for this team."

This year, Hamilton is looking to improve on his performance from last year, and is looking forward to ending his break away from the track:

"We always miss driving. The break initially feels too short but by the end of it you're like okay I'm ready to go.

"Racing is part of my DNA. I believe I can get better, I love that challenge of the mental and physical element and deep diving to extract more performance from yourself and the people around you. There are always new tools. I am planning to stay a little bit longer."

Despite having a car collection good enough to keep him excited, for the champ, nothing will beat the challenge of racing. So while we wait for the W14 to hit the track, we can hope for a good level of competition between the top three constructors this year.
