F1 fans have begun to call out the event organisers for the 2023 British Grand Prix for charging £129 for a pit lane entry package at the upcoming race in Silverstone.

Taking to social media, disgruntled fan, Elliot Horwood, wrote:

"Silverstone really,  £129 is extortionate!!

"I assume this is a typo @SilverstoneUK? It was £29 last year

Horwood continued:

"The pit walk used to be free 3+ years ago. Last year was £29 for the pit walk with museum ticket. Now £129 for pit walk, museum ticket and guaranteed entry to the evening stage area. A 345% increase in price"

This sparked outrage with other fans, who have previously complained about the dramatic increase of prices for the iconic event. Another fan responded:

"This is why I do Friday only at Silverstone and then for the same price as Sunday, I get on a plane, fly somewhere warm and enjoy F1 without feeling robbed, Its a shame but it is the only way forward."

Someone else reminisced of the days when it used to cost them £5 to have access to the pit lane. Despite this surely being some time ago, the Twitter user wrote:

"I remember Friday for a fiver, when an additional fiver got you in the pit lane and the drivers were there to chat too"

This increase in price has been picked up by many others who are looking to book the experience. Another Twitter user, @LateApexYT, expressed their frustrations, writing:

"£129 Silverstone are trying to charge for access to a "launch party", museum pass and a "complimentary" pit walk on Thursday at the F1. Actual insanity. First time I went pit walk was free, last year it was £29 for pit walk and museum... £100 for a "party", yeah...No thx."
