Former Alabama Star, Dallas Cowboys Draft Pick Ends Career with Birmingham Stallions

Running back Bo Scarbrough is one of the most recognizable names in the UFL with his success playing for the Alabama Crimson Tide. Birmingham Stallion fans were excited to have him back from injury for the 2024 season.
That appears to not be in the cards anymore.
The Bama Standard Network posted on social media that Scarbrough has retired from football at the age of 27.
Scarbrough is coming off a knee injury in the 2023 season opener for the Stallions, costing him the rest of the USFL season. He was picked up by Birmingham in the middle of the 2022 USFL season, running for 352 yards and one touchdown. The Stallions have won back-to-back USFL championships.
The Dallas Cowboys selected Scarbrough in the seventh round of the 2018 NFL Draft. He also signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Seattle Seahawks, Detroit Lions and Las Vegas Raiders. From 2018-22, Scarbrough ran for 408 yards and one touchdown with most of that production coming in 2019 with the Lions.
At Alabama, Scarbrough teamed up with some top talent in the backfield including Derrick Henry, Damien Harris, Josh Jacobs, Kenyan Drake and Najee Harris. He rushed for 1,512 yards and 20 touchdowns in 34 games.
Birmingham still has talent at running back with C.J. Marable, Larry Roundtree III and Ricky Person Jr. on the roster. Look for Marable to be the lead back, but the Stallions will likely use a committee to run the ball.
The first round of roster cuts for UFL teams begins on Sunday.
