Active St. Louis Battlehawks Sign Offensive Tackle, Defensive Back While Waiving DB

The St. Louis Battlehawks made multiple moves over the weekend by signing offensive tackle Teton Saltes, waiving Mykael Wright and signing Channing Stribling.

With a lot of moving pieces coming in the UFL this week with final roster cuts looming, the St. Louis Battlehawks are bringing in some last-second competition by signing two players and waiving one.

The UFL announced that St. Louis waived cornerback Mykael Wright on Sunday. The Battlehawks also added offensive tackle Teton Saltes and cornerback Channing Stribling, and are releasing offensive lineman Koda Martin, according to sources

The Stribling signing was first reported by UFL Newsroom.

Wright was selected by the Battlehawks in the UFL Dispersal Draft in January. He’s coming off a season with the XFL Seattle Sea Dragons, posting 12 tackles in five games. Wright was in minicamp with the Arizona Cardinals in 2022. In three seasons at Oregon, he made 111 tackles and two interceptions in 34 games.

Saltes played last season with the Arlington Renegades in the XFL, but was placed on the reserve list for almost two months before returning late in the season. The Renegades selected him in the first round of the 2023 XFL Supplemental Draft a month before the season started. He also played for the Michigan Panthers in the USFL in 2022.

Stribling was recently cut by the Birmingham Stallions as part of the first round of roster cuts in training camp after being selected in the UFL Dispersal Draft in January. He has played the last two seasons in the USFL with the Philadelphia Stars, racking up 29 tackles and eight interceptions, including a 2022 All-USFL selection. Battlehawks coach Anthony Becht selected Stribling in the 2022 XFL Draft before he decided to play in the USFL over the XFL.

St. Louis has been serious about improving the secondary this offseason and it shows with the solid pickup of Stribling. Saltes helps with depth on the offensive line after offensive tackle Sage Doxtater was placed on injured reserve earlier in the month.

UFL teams must have 50 players on the final roster by Saturday.
