Angels Shortstop Reveals Hidden Passion for Salsa Dancing

Los Angeles Angels shortstop Zach Neto is not just an emerging infielder, but an emerging salsa dancer as well. Neto decided to take up salsa dancing after the 2023 season, his first season in the major leagues after making his debut in April of 2023.

Neto revealed that he decided to try salsa dancing to begin something new. Now, he's brought salsa to the field, using salsa music as he takes the field for the Angels this season. While salsa has become a hobby for Neto, his focus is currently on baseball as the season has started.

“Things like that to keep going with that rhythm and that timing,” Neto told Angel Magazine. “When baseball time comes, baseball time is the main priority. But when I’m out of here, I try to do as much as I can to keep up with my salsa lessons.”

So far on the season, Neto has hit .209 while notching 9 hits, one run, five RBIs, and one stolen base through eleven games. This start comes after Neto notched 65 hits, 38 runs, 34 RBIs, and nine runs while batting .225 with a .308 on-base percentage.

Neto and the Angels have begun the season 7-6 but took down the Boston Red Sox to open their new series. The Angels have lost three of their last six games, which is especially disappointing after they were previously on a mini winning streak.
