Angels News: Jared Walsh Feeling Blessed in Return to Major Leagues
In what's been a trying year for him with both health and his play, one former All-Star has come back to the big leagues in a major way.
Battling through both mental and physical struggles all season long, Jared Walsh's comeback to the Angels has been a great sign for his baseball future and he's been grateful for the opportunity.
“It’s been huge,” Walsh said of his performance this weekend. “Any time you hit a home run in the major leagues it’s a special feeling. So, it’s been good; a lot of answered prayers."

Walsh also finally is starting to feel like himself again.
"I feel like some of the fog and fatigue has really lifted,” Walsh said. “I’ve kind of hit my stride, but unfortunately, it’s only with 15 games left or whatever it may be. But I’m really happy, noticeably better. I’ve hit for a long time so when things are going wrong, you kind of know. I just never felt sharp, I never felt like really in it, able to lock in attention-wise. Once that happened and I was able to focus, it’s been good."
Emerging back onto the roster alongside another fan favorite in David Fletcher, the Halos decided with just weeks left in the season to reassess some of their pieces from the past few seasons to see what they have.
Out of the playoffs and confirming another losing record for their streak of now eight straight seasons, Walsh has hit two home runs in three games since returning to Anaheim.
Dealing with both vision and mental concerns that prevented him from playing his best, it's a great sign to see Walsh in a better place both mentally and physically to produce at the major league level once more.
A former All-Star in 2021, this return to form in the power department could mean Walsh is a part of the Halos' future plans after his resurgence.
