Tis the season for Shohei. The Angels superstar can barely walk without a story coming out of it, but in this case, we have something absolutely substantial. Following the Halos' come from behind walk off win over the Yankees, manager Phil Nevin shared a huge proclamation from Shohei Ohtani.

“He wants to win. And he wants to win here.”

It's a statement that's sure to give Angels fans goosebumps and make some folks want to run through a wall. Shohei wants to win here.

Here's the full quote from the manager.

“He wants to win in the worst way,” Nevin said. “This has been frustrating for him the last two weeks, as it is for everybody, but you can see it in him. He wants to win. He wants to win here.”

Ohtani has made his desires clear -- painfully at times. He wants to win. But that reassurance to know that he wants to win in Anaheim is nice to hear sometimes.

He did his part on Monday night, blasting a game tying 2-run home run off the Yankees and sparking an eventual walk off win while keeping the team's dwindling playoff hopes alive.

For all the will they, won't they trade rumors swirling these days, we could be in the final days of Shohei Ohtani as an Angel. Even with so many talking heads saying the club will not trade him before the deadline, it's really a never say never era for Perry Minasian.

The Angels are one game under .500 and just 5.5 games back of a Wild Card spot. And, they have one thing that no other team has that should give them playoff hope...

A returning Mike Trout at some point in August.
