Angels Rumors: Insider Doesn’t Expect Halos to Make Postseason for Remainder of Decade

Talk about a bold claim.

Another disappointing 2023 season for Angels baseball became just another reminder of the organization's dysfunction.

No matter the talent on the roster, the manager in the dugout or the front office personnel, Arte Moreno's team could continue to be the laughingstock of the sports world with their current pace. Kerry Miller of Bleacher Report doesn't see things getting better any time soon.

"It would be irresponsible to declare that a team absolutely will not make the postseason at any point in the next seven years. But if the Angels don’t trade Trout to an actual contender, I don’t see him getting back to the playoffs before he retires."

Trout became an exciting young rookie, a three-time AL MVP winner and the consensus best player in the sport all within seven years with Anaheim.

The most insulting part of that fact? Trout's only seen one playoff series in his entire career where his team couldn't manage a single win against the Kansas City Royals.

That series came back in 2014 and now nine years later, a new narrative surrounds Trout while the same one exists around his team.

Now 32 years old and injured more often than not, Trout's body simply can't handle the constant grind of trying to carry a sub .500 ball club around his evident talent.

This year marked the third season in a row that the superstar outfielder couldn't finish a fully healthy campaign.

While he was sidelined, the Angels' newest victim of a one-man band suffered a similar fate as Shohei Ohtani also broke down in his pursuit of playoff baseball.

Though Trout can at least claim one playoff series to his name, Ohtani can't say the same for his legacy with Anaheim despite being alongside Trout for the past six seasons.

Should the Japanese superstar leave, the claim Miller makes could come to fruition unless Moreno finally sells the team to a smarter owner once and for all.
