Former Angels Minor League Pitcher Joins NL West Squad on MILB Deal

The former Halo is heading to NorCal on a minor-league deal.

Former Los Angeles Angels minor league right-handed pitcher has found a new home in California.

According to Ari Alexander of KPR Houston, former Angels minor league pitcher Justin Garza has signed a minor league deal with the San Francisco Giants.

Alexander reported via X.

Garza signed a one-year major league deal with the Halos in December 2022. However, he was optioned to Triple-A Salt Lake Bees to start the 2023 season.

He made only six appearances in Triple-A, recording a 4.32 ERA with five strikeouts in 8.1 innings. He was ultimately designated for assignment in April 2023 and never pitched in the majors as a member of the Angels.

In his big league career, he has a 5.74 ERA, 46 strikeouts, and a 1.68 WHIP with a 2-3 record in 47 innings and 38 games.

We wish the best for this Halos legend in his next character in San Francisco.
