Former Los Angeles Angels right-handed pitcher Mike Mayers has found a new home.

On Tuesday, the Toronto Blue Jays announced they signed Mayers to a minor league contract for the 2024 season that includes an invitation to spring training.

With Opening Day just nine days away, Mayers will need to do a quick ramp up if he wants to help the Blue Jays on the sooner side.

For now, he's probably just happy to find a new home.

Mayers spent the 2023 season with the Kansas City Royals and struggled, allowing 18 earned runs in 26.1 innings of work for a 6.15 ERA.

He was with the Angels from 2020-22, and was dominant in 2020 and 2021, before struggling in 2022.

Mayers had a 2.10 ERA in 29 appearances in 2020, and a 3.84 ERA in 72 appearances in 2021. However, in 2022, Mayers had a 5.68 ERA in 24 appearances.

Mayers began his career in 2016 with the St. Louis Cardinals, where he played four seasons until 2019.

The Blue Jays will be Mayers' fourth team if he makes the Major League roster, as he enters the ninth season of his MLB career.

He was a former third round pick of the Cardinals in the 2013 MLB Draft.
