Unfortunately, a good amount of injuries and games missed by players within the MLB comes from the results of some misplaced pitches and throws. Whether they take a fastball to their ribs, head, or even groin area, it can prove to be serious and very dangerous.

Our own infielder, Anthony Rendon took a pitch to his shoulder and had to miss some games due to it earlier this season.

With all of the pitches a starter at the mound has to throw, they are bound to mess up a few and it is well-understood around the league.

One of our Halos once again became victim of this in Saturday's loss to the Milwaukee Brewers. Zach Neto was recently called after just over 40 games in the minor leagues and he's starting to find his footing.

However, he's also had a pretty rough 'Welcome to the Majors' pattern as he's gotten hit by a pitch seven times this season.

"Let's put how often Zach Neto gets HBP into context As of right now: 53 PA, 7 HBP That's a 13.2% HBP rate. It's getting hit by a pitch every 8th plate appearance, basically once every other game. At this rate, in 600 PAs, he'd get hit by 79+ pitches."

The majority of Angels fans are hoping that this does not continue because it could result in some serious injuries.

However, it's looking like Phil Nevin isn't too concerned.

"I'm not, guys get hit," said Nevin. "He's getting hit in spots where he wears protection underneath, the spots aren't vital. That ball hit him in the forearm. He's going to be fine, he's been hit a few times but he told he he's been hit in high school and hit in college and nothing changes now, just getting on base."

This is certainly an interesting perspective and we hope he continues to stay healthy!
