Angels News: Ohtani Fails to Record Cycle, Still Makes History on Monday

In this story:
We were so, so close to seeing Shohei Ohtani take the MLB world by storm yet again and break the internet with another record. This time, he would have became the first starting pitcher ever to record a cycle but it was just one missing double that stopped him.
On a brighter note, LA took care of business in their first outing against the Baltimore Orioles as they won 9-5 and look to to break their three-game losing streak when it comes to series.
And even though Ohtani could not get his cycle, he still hit the record breaks thanks to an amazing batting night while also taking the pitching mound.

However, he does become the first pitcher to reach base five times in a game since Mel Stottlemyre for the Yankees on Sept. 26, 1964 at Washington. https://t.co/0RVfJpikQQ

Ohtani also connected on his ninth home run of the season last night along with Chad Wallach, who was returning from injury and hit his third dinger of the year.

The 28-year-old superstar's homer traveled an incredible 456 feet and was his farthest of the season yet.
However, we all know Ohtani at this point and he is never satisfied with his regular season outings. He focused on how he can improve his pitching in his next start during his postgame interview and talked about his sweeper may not be working as well due to him giving up four hits and five runs to the Orioles.
“There are a few things I noticed with the sweeper,” Ohtani said. “I can’t really say right here, but there are some adjustments I definitely need to make. If I make those adjustments, I think should be fine.”
