With Spring Training right around the corner for the Houston Astros, the hope is that they will be fully healthy. After losing in the ALCS last season, the expectation is for them to get back to the same spot, and this time, return to the World Series.

Alex Bregman, for most of his career, has been relatively healthy. In every full season outside of his rookie year and in 2021, has played at least 155 games. Last year, Bregman played 161.

That will be needed out of him again. This Astros team is not as deep as it has been in years past and they will need Bregman, Jose Altuve, Yordan Alvarez, Kyle Tucker, and others to be on the field just about every game.

Bregman spoke about his health entering the season, saying his body feels incredible. He had the following to say, according to Brian McTaggart of MLB.com:

"I don't know how many guys played 162 last year, but a lot did. To be honest, my body feels incredible. I think it's had an extremely positive impact on guys being able to be on the field every single day, feel good and feel healthy and stay healthy through the long haul of a season."

The 29-year-old, who hits free agency at the end of the season, will look to have another year where he contributes to the team winning. Bregman has done just that in his eight big league seasons, which have all come with Houston.

There have been talks that the team will not re-sign him due to the potential price. The Astros have shown that they will replace players with in-house prospects, most notably when Jeremy Pena took over for Carlos Correa.

However, if Bregman can play another 155 games and hit 25-plus home runs, it seems logical to give him what he wants and continue building upon Houston's dynasty.
