Biggest Storyline All Houston Astros Fans Must Follow for Matchup Against Twins

The Houston Astros have the opportunity to clinch a spot in the ALCS on Wednesday against the Minnesota Twins. Here is the storyline to watch.

The Houston Astros have a golden opportunity ahead of them on Wednesday. With one win against the Minnesota Twins, the Astros can punch their ticket to yet another ALCS.

Of course, this time it would be against in-state and divisional rivals the Texas Rangers.

But according to MLB.com there is one massive storyline that Astros fans should be following for Game 3 of the ALDS and that is how Jose Urquidy will hold up.

Whether or not the Twins can get after Urquidy early could be the key to any success the Twins may find.

"The Twins actually have the starting pitcher advantage in this game, and they clearly are feeling more urgency," writes MLB.com's Will Leitch

"In front of their home crowd -- which, after a miserable Game 3, is desperate to find something to cheer about – they have a very reasonable chance to win this game. Will they be favored in a Game 5 against Verlander, in Houston? No. But the Twins will worry about that when they get there. If they can get the crowd into this with an early lead, this series could be tied, and essentially a coin flip, instantly. This is far from over."

We discussed it heavily here already, but the Dusty Baker's decision to go with Urquidy over J.P. France is a risky bet. Urquidy hasn't been the same since returning from injury, but France has been struggling down the stretch.

Neither are the option Baker would want to turn to in a situation like this but there was little other options.

Minnesota has a chance to take full advantage of Urquidy but Houston's offense is powerful.

That is what fans need to be keeping an eye on in the early goings of the game

First pitch is slated for 6:07 p.m. CT at Target Field on Wednesday.
