The Blue Jays will be without Bo Bichette, again.

The infielder was placed on the 10-day injured list with a right quad strain, the team announced ahead of Tuesday's game. Infielder Mason McCoy will join the MLB team in Bichette's place.

Bichette exited Sunday's loss to the Guardians in the middle of the contest and went for an MRI on Monday. He had only been back with the Jays for eight games after spending time on the IL earlier this month.

Bichette has been Toronto's best hitter this season, batting .314 with 18 homers and a .831 OPS. The Jays managed to survive his previous IL stint, posting a 9-8 record during his absence, but they've since been overtaken by a few teams in the AL Wild-Card race.

The Jays must now find a way to navigate at least a 10-day stretch without Bichette and 3B Matt Chapman, losing the left side of their infield to start the most important month of the season. Entering Tuesday's game, the Jays sit 2.5 games back of a postseason position.

Coming up for Bichette, McCoy will join the Blue Jays and potentially make his MLB debut. The 28-year-old infielder is hitting .192 with the Buffalo Bisons in 21 games. The Jays acquired him from the Seattle Mariners for Trent Thornton earlier this season.
