Tommy Troy Makes Return to Hillsboro Lineup in Doubleheader

The Diamondbacks No. 3 prospect had missed the last three games as a precaution.

Diamondbacks No. 3 prospect Tommy Troy returned to the lineup for Hillsboro on Wednesday. He started the first half of a doubleheader at shortstop, then the second game at designated hitter. He was removed from Saturday's game with an undisclosed injury then missed Hillsboro's next three games as a precaution. He was on track to return to the lineup Tuesday night, but weather conditions resulted in the game getting postponed to the next day. Troy finished the day going 1-for-6 at the plate with his second stolen base of the year and two strikeouts.

Triple-A: Reno Aces 2, Tacoma Rainiers 5

Jorge Barrosa reached base three more times, collecting a single, walk, and a hit-by-pitch. Pavin Smith picked up an RBI single. Tristin English doubled for Reno's only extra base hit. Adrian Del Castillo grounded out in a pinch-hit plate appearance.

Double-A: Amarillo Sod Poodles 7, Midland RockHounds 6

Deyvison De Los Santos had the big hit in this game, with a go-ahead two-run home run in the 7th that put Amarillo up 7-5. De Los Santos finished 3-for-5 and is now 12-for-30 on the season with two home runs but also eight strikeouts vs. one walk. Caleb Roberts and J.J. D'Orazio both had two hits and an RBI, with Roberts scoring three runs in this game.

High-A: Hillsboro Hops 0, Vancouver Canadians 2 (F/7); Hillsboro Hops 5, Vancouver Canadians 2 (F/7)

Ricardo Yan struggled with control, walking five in 3 2/3 innings. The one hit allowed was a two-run homer, which accounted for all of Vancouver's scoring that night. Christian Cerda went 0-for-2 but walked, stole a base, then scored on Kevin Sim's RBI single in the 5th of Game 2.

Low-A: Visalia Rawhide 1, San Jose Giants 2 (F/8); Visalia Rawhide 3, San Jose Giants 4 (F/7)

Cristofer Torin went 4-for-6 with a stolen base in the doubleheader, pushing his season average up to .480 (12-for-25) in eight games this season. Jansel Luis was 1-for-7 with a stolen base. Druw Jones played the Game 1 of the doubleheader, going 2-for-3 with an RBI. Ruben Santana was 2-for-7 with an RBI triple in the second game and played both corner infield spots.
