CINCINNATI — The Reds are signing veteran Tony Kemp to a minor league contract according to MLB insider Jon Heyman.

The 32-year-old has experience in left field and at second base. He posted a .209/.303/.304 slash like for the Athletics last season. The Reds have shown interest in Kemp throughout the offseason.

Kemp spent the past four seasons in Oakland, posting a .240/.340/.345 slash line over that span. He had 15 stolen bases last season and could be a good veteran depth piece for a young contender like the Reds.

The Red Sox, Blue Jays and Pirates were also interested in signing him.
