The Reds lost to the Mariners 11-7 on Saturday in Goodyear. The day was headlined by Nick Lodolo, who made his second start of the spring.

He pitched a 1-2-3 first inning and finished with four strikeouts on the day. Lodolo did give up a double, two hits and one run.

TJ Friedl suffered a wrist injury diving for a ball in the outfield. The Reds say it's a right wrist sprain.

Nick Martini continues to make a case for the 26th-man spot as he hit a two-run homer. However, Martini wasn’t the only 26th-man contender to have a good inning as Mike Ford singled and Tony Kemp drove him in with a double to make it 3-1 Reds.

Seby Zavala took Alexis Diaz deep on a two-run home run. Sam Haggerty hit a homer off off Emilio Pagán to make it 4-3 Mariners.

Elly De La Cruz doubled, which led to an RBI single from Christian Encarnacion-Strand to tie the game.

The tie didn’t hold up for long as Dylan Moore singled to score Sam Haggerty. Justin Bruihl was called on a balk which also scored Tyler Locklear.

A triple from Encarnacion-Strand scored another run before a double from P.J. Higgins tied the game up.

In clutch fashion, Ford hit a single which scored Higgins to give them the lead.

Eddy Demurias came in to attempt to put the game away. Instead he gave up a two run homer. Seattle scored three more runs off of Demurias to secure the win.
