Joel Embiid, Sixers’ Final Injury Report Status vs. Orlando Magic

Will Joel Embiid play for the Philadelphia 76ers against the Magic on Friday?

Friday night’s matchup poses as the most important for the Philadelphia 76ers this season. As the Sixers need to continue their winning ways throughout the final two games of the year to keep their hopes of making the playoffs without the Play-In Tournament alive, they need all productive hands on deck against the Orlando Magic.

The Sixers find themselves dealing with a couple of setbacks heading into the matchup. As expected, the veteran wing Robert Covington was ruled out in advance. With Covington dealing with a bone bruise on his left knee, he hasn’t seen the court in months.

The good news is that the Sixers’ three other players on the injury report had a chance to suit up and play.

The young veteran KJ Martin was listed as questionable due to a left great toe contusion. Martin’s recent setback started ahead of the Sixers’ Tuesday night matchup against the Detroit Pistons. Although he was on pace to play, Martin was ruled out as a late scratch.

In addition to the reserve, the Sixers listed two starters on the report as questionable: Joel Embiid and Kyle Lowry. Embiid missed his first game back since returning after a 29-game absence last Sunday, but started the week off competing against the Pistons.

As for Lowry, he’s been out for the last couple of games. Initially, his absence was due to rest. Now, Lowry is dealing with a left knee effusion.
