Earlier this week, news emerged that Joel Embiid was set to make his return for the Philadelphia 76ers. He was originally listed as out for Tuesday’s matchup with the OKC Thunder, but then he got upgraded and ended up playing.

Despite not playing since January 30th, Embiid managed to have a strong outing against the Thunder. In 29 minutes of action, he posted a stat line of 24 points, six rebounds, seven assists, and three steals.

One of Embiid’s biggest moments of the game came in the final minute. With things going down to the wire, the reigning MVP came up with a big steal on Josh Giddey. In the end, the Sixers ended up taking down a depleted Thunder team by a final score of 109-105.

Following this big win in his return, Embiid ended up sharing a moment with one of the top stars in Sixers' history. Allen Iverson was courtside for Tuesday’s action and shared a wholesome moment with Embiid at the final buzzer.

The fun did not end there for Iverson and the Sixers, as the Hall of Fame guard made his way to the locker room postgame. He’d end up talking with the whole team, but had a special welcome back message for Embiid.

Now with Embiid back in the lineup, the Sixers can begin their playoff push at full strength. With just six games to go, they sit in eighth place with a 41-35 record. However, they are only two games out of sixth place, avoiding the play-in tournament in the process.
