PHILADELPHIA, PA -- Back in the summertime, Philadelphia 76ers guard Josh Richardson wasn't in the City of Brotherly Love. Instead, the young guard was gearing up for his fifth season with the Miami Heat. However, the Heat's front office had other plans.

As impending free-agent guard Jimmy Butler was showing a substantial interest in moving to South Beach for the long-term, the Heat figured the easiest way to get him was through a trade with the Sixers.

The Sixers ended up giving Butler the max contract he desired, but they didn't have plans to keep in Philly. Therefore, a sign and trade occurred, and the Sixers ended up with the 26-year-old former second-round pick, Richardson.

While Richardson is enjoying his time in Philly so far, he was very adamant about wanting to get revenge on Miami, regardless of how much he was enjoying his time with the Sixers. This Saturday would mark the first matchup between the Sixers and the Heat this season, offering Richardson his chance to "kill the Heat," as he said.

But it looks like the Sixers guard might have to wait until next month to do so.

For the last few days, Richardson has been dealing with a right hip flexor, which has him on pace to miss multiple games now as of Friday. And according to a team spokesperson for the Sixers, they are heading into Saturday's matchup against Miami with Richardson listed as questionable.

Two hours before tip-off on Friday, Richardson was getting some work in during a pregame shootaround, which is an improvement from Wednesday night. However, that doesn't confirm whether or not he will play on Saturday. At least Richardson is beginning to trend in the right direction, though, as he looks to get fully healthy.
