Khris Middleton continued to make the sidelines his temporary home as he missed the game against the Philadelphia 76ers on Thursday. Although Milwaukee won 114-105, Middleton’s absence on the floor looms large for a Bucks team that looks to build chemistry amongst its core players heading to the NBA Playoffs.

Has already missed 24 games this season

The veteran wingman's last three seasons have not been kind to him, as he has missed 99 games. Last season, he played in only 33 games due to various wrist and knee injuries; this season, he has suited up in only 43. Bucks coach Doc Rivers has maintained an optimistic tone regarding the 32-year-old, constantly saying the latter is making progress in his rehabilitation from a sprained ankle he suffered on February 6.

“He's just not ready. He's close, as I've said, for, I don't know, 10 games now, it feels like it, but he's really close. I'll stop there,” Rivers relayed to reporters before the game.

Limited on-court work

Reports mention that Middleton is diligently working on the court but is limited to two-on-two and three-on-three drills. This is a positive sign, as it shows that he is progressing in his recovery and is able to handle some physical activity on the court.

However, it also indicates that Khris is still not at full strength and is not yet ready for full team practices or game action. Fans got excited when Middleton was upgraded to questionable for the game versus Sacramento last March 11. However, he has been ruled out of every game since that time.
