"Love the direction we are heading" - Giannis Antetokounmpo reacts to Milwaukee's recent performances
The Milwaukee Bucks have strung up a couple of impressive wins, and Giannis Antetokounmpo is liking what he is seeing with the team.
After Monday night’s 112-95 win over the defending champions Denver Nuggets, Milwaukee still has more losses than wins under coach Doc Rivers, but for the Greek Freak, the future looks promising for the Bucks.
Things looking good for the Bucks
By defeating Denver, the Bucks now have a winning streak under Rivers, as they also beat the Charlotte Hornets on Sunday night, 120-84. The most notable part of the twin victories was the Bucks’ improved defensive effort. Milwaukee held opponents below 100 points in those two wins.
“It feels good. I've said this, I don’t, me personally, I don't care, I don’t mind if we struck two in a row, if we struck five in a row, if we struck 10 in a row. That means nothing to me. I just love when the team is heading towards the right direction,” Giannis told reporters after the game.
Building good habits
Giannis was impressive against the Nuggets, tallying 36 points, 18 rebounds, five assists, three steals, and two blocks as the Bucks improved to 3-5 under Rivers.
Milwaukee is 35-19 on the season, good for third in the Eastern Conference.
It remains to be seen if the Bucks have already fully adjusted under a new coach, but what is specific for Giannis is that the Bucks have been playing hard.
“I feel like, as a team, we are doing that. There's going to be good nights, there’s going to be bad nights, but as a team, we are building good habits, like we are competing,” Giannis said.
