The NBA season did not go as planned for Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks. In fact, it could not have gone any worse, as they were defeated by the eighth-seeded Miami Heat in one of the most stunning first-round upsets in league history. Fortunately, the 28-year-old superstar still has plenty to be happy about, as his family is about to grow by one.

Third child

Giannis and his longtime girlfriend, Mariah Riddlesprigger, announced on Instagram that they are expecting another child. The post read, "Our dreams becoming reality."

The couple already has two children—Liam, who’s three years old, and Maverick, a one-year-old. The 30-year-old Mariah is a former professional volleyball player and a successful entrepreneur.

Inspiration during the offseason

The offseason is going to be a long one for the Greek Freak, but the impending arrival of his third child figures to provide plenty of inspiration for the two-time MVP. As he wrote in his tweet, “I’m tired of the disrespect. I’m coming.”

Although there’s a lot of uncertainty surrounding the Bucks’ franchise right now—no head coach, plenty of free agents—Giannis’ family will help provide a much-needed source of stability and strength. And it’s that kind of support that has made Giannis the player he is today—one who can overcome any obstacle, take on any challenge, and turn the Bucks around once again after such a disappointing outcome to this season.
