The Chicago Bulls appear to be stuck in a rut. Despite having their "Big 3" of Zach LaVine, DeMar DeRozan, and Nikola Vucevic playing at a high level for most of the season, the Bulls still didn't make it to the Playoffs. Now, with the team's decision-makers bent on bringing back Vucevic on a brand-new deal, it looks like they will be keeping most of the same squad from this season.

Experts, though, firmly believe that this iteration of the Bulls has reached its ceiling, and Chicago would be better off either retooling their roster or hitting the reset button for good.

Time to start over

According to Bleacher Report's Dan Favale, the stars are aligning for the Bulls to reset their roster. With once-promising point guard Lonzo Ball not expected to return anytime soon after undergoing another knee surgery, it looks like the results for next season would be more or less the same if they bring the same cast of players back.

"This team needs a hard reset," Favale wrote. "Now's a good time to start over. Nikola Vucevic is a free agent, and Alex Caruso, DeMar DeRozan, and Zach LaVine should all have significant trade value."

Young talent

The Bulls have some young, talented players on their roster in Patrick Williams and last year's 18th pick, Dalen Terry, who was sparingly used because of numerous veteran guards on the team ahead of him in the rotation. Rebuilding a team is never a pleasant experience for both the franchise and its fans, but it appears the Bulls have painted themselves into a corner with their current setup.

Now is the time for a complete rebuild of this team, which starts with trading away some of their veteran players for young talent and draft picks. With LaVine, DeRozan, and Caruso all having significant trade value, this could be a perfect opportunity to bring in some fresh faces who could contribute and help build a playoff contender in the next few years.
