While the team's roster is presumably set with training camp looming on the horizon, plenty of questions remain unanswered, and the Chicago Bulls must answer them before kicking off the new season. The most glaring of these is who will start alongside the "Big 3" of DeMar DeRozan, Zach LaVine, and Nikola Vucevic.

Who can help the "Big 3?"

Fortunately for the Bulls, they should have a lot more flexibility this season. Although starting point guard Lonzo Ball remains out indefinitely, the Bulls have more options that they can deploy to offset this massive loss.

The team picked up Jevon Carter, who had an outstanding season for the Milwaukee Bucks last season, and many peg him to take over the starting position. Young forward Patrick Williams has also worked hard on his game this offseason, leading experts to speculate that he might reclaim the starting power forward spot. However, Elias Schuster writes that the answers will be determined come training camp.

"The Chicago Bulls have options. As we inch closer and closer to training camp, the 2022-23 rotation will be an increasing topic of conversation. While the "Big 3" are locked into the starting lineup, everything else pretty much feels up in the air," Schuster wrote.

Completing the puzzle

Aside from figuring out who'll start beside the "Big 3," the Bulls also have to deal with some other parts of the puzzle, such as backup big man Andre Drummond, the newly-re-signed Ayo Dosunmu, and young guns Dalen Terry and Julian Phillips.

"Ayo Dosunmu's role is also sure to change a bit. Meanwhile, head coach Billy Donovan has to decide whether Andre Drummond will be the primary backup big this year or whether small ball will continue to be heavily utilized (perhaps with perhaps Patrick Williams eating minutes at the five). Then, of course, Dalen Terry and Julian Phillips are waiting in the wings. Could either make more of an impression in training camp?" Schuster added.
