Bucks, sharpshooter Korver agree on one-year contract
Free-agent sharpshooter Kyle Korver has agreed to a one-year contract with the Milwaukee Bucks agent Jeff Schwartz of Excel Sports told Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
By choosing Milwaukee, which had the best regular-season record in the NBA last season (60-22), Korver is reunited with coach Mike Budenholzer, for whom he played three-plus seasons with the Atlanta Hawks, earning All-Star recognition in 2015. Korver also reportedly considered the Philadelphia 76ers before settling on Milwaukee.
Korver, 38, played 16 games for the Cleveland Cavaliers last season before being traded to the Utah Jazz for Alec Burks and two second-round draft picks on Nov. 29.
In 70 games (the final 54 with the Jazz), Korver averaged 8.6 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 19.1 minutes, shooting 41.6 percent from the field, 39.7 percent from beyond the 3-point arc and 82.2 percent from the free-throw line.
The 22nd overall pick of the 2003 NBA Draft out of Creighton University by the New Jersey Nets, Korver, carries career averages of 9.9 points,3.0 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 25.7 minutes in 1,174 games (422 starts), along with a shooting line of 44.3/42.9/87.8.
