Suns add power forward Diallo on two-year contract

The Phoenix Suns have signed power forward Cheick Diallo to a two-year contract, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, with the second season being a team option, according to Michael Scott of The Athletic.

Diallo, 22, spent the last three seasons with the New Orleans Pelicans, who was selected by the Los Angeles Clippers with the 33rd overall pick in the 2016 draft out of Kansas.

He was traded on draft knight to the Pelicans for David Michineau and Diamond Stone.

Diallo averaged career-highs of 6.0 points and 5.2 rebounds in 14.0 minutes in 64 games (1 start) for the Pelicans last season, shooting 62.0 percent from the field and 74.6 percent from the free-throw line.

The 6-foot-9, 220-pounder carries career averages of 5.5 points and 4.6 boards in 12.6 minutes in 133 games (1 start), shooting 58.5 percent from the field and 74.7 percent from the charity stripe.
