Defending champion Raptors waive point guard Taylor

The defending champion Toronto Raptors have waived point guard Isaiah Taylor, according to JD Shaw of HoopsRumors.

The Raptors signed Taylor to a partially guaranteed contract Sept. 18 so he will at least collect a little money. The Raptors could sign him to a two-way deal, since they still have both slots available.

Taylor, 25, is 6-foot-3 and did not play in the NBA last season. He did appear in 67 games with the Atlanta Hawks in 2017-18, averaging 6.6 points and 3.1 assists.

He played three games with the Houston Rockets as a rookie and was waived by the Cleveland Cavaliers before the start of last season.
