Lakers deal Zubac and Beasley to Clippers for Muscala

The Los Angeles Lakers have traded Michael Beasley and Ivica Zubac to the Los Angles Clippers for Mike Muscala, per a report from Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

The Clippers are trading Muscala just hours after acquiring him from the Philadelphia 76ers.

On the season Muscala is averaging 7.4 points and 4.3 rebounds in 47 games. Muscala also has the ability to provide shooting for the Lakers, shooting 34 percent from three this season.

This is not the Lakers trade that everyone was hoping for before Thursday's deadline, but the deal created a roster spot for a possible buyout candidates. Wojnarowski mentioned that available forward Carmelo Anthony is one possible option for the Lakers.

Beasley and Zubac are both players who had been mentioned in a possible Anthony Davis deal with the New Orleans Pelicans, but nothing ever transpired.

The Clippers are getting a good young big-man in Zubac, who is averaging 8.5 points and 4.9 rebounds this season. Zubac is in his second season and has played well when given the opportunity to play extended minutes.

Beasley, on the other hand, has played in 26 games for the Lakers averaging 7.0 points and 2.3 rebounds.

It will be interesting to see how the Clippers use Zubac and Beasley, as the Clippers currently hold the eighth and final playoff spot in a crowded Western Conference.
