Lakers' Rondo cleared to travel, closer to returning

It has not been a good season for Los Angeles Lakers point guard Rajon Rondo, as he's had to undergo a pair of surgeries on his hand, one in November and the second in December.

Now though the team got some good news, as it sounds like the guard is getting closer to returning to the team which could use some help.

According to Lakers reporter Ryan Ward, Rondo has "progressed to dribbling with his surgically repaired hand and has been cleared to travel with the team."

The 32-year-old from the University of Kentucky has only been able to play in 14 games for the Lakers this season, who are coming off a stunning home loss on Sunday night to the Cavs, who had lost 12 in a row.

So far this season he's putting up 8.4 points, 6.7 assists, 4.4 rebounds and a steal per game, playing 24.4 minutes per game.
