Lonzo will only ball with Lakers, dad says

LaVar Ball, the father of UCLA star guard and potential No. 1 overall draft pick Lonzo Ball, said in a radio interview Saturday that his son will only play for the Los Angeles Lakers.

LaVar later clarified his remarks in an interview with ESPN.

"All I said was that my boy is going to play for the Lakers, and I'm going to speak it into existence," LaVar Ball told ESPN on Saturday night. "I want him to be a Laker, but I wasn't saying he's only going to play for the Lakers."

Either way, this is just the most recent example of some strong words from LaVar Ball.

In a recent interview with the New York Post, he also listed reasons why Lonzo is already better than Golden State star Steph Curry.

For what it's worth, Ball is listed as the No. 2 pick in ESPN draft insider Chad Ford's latest mock draft. The Lakers will definitely be in the lottery, but there's no telling where they may choose.

LaVar Ball made the comments in an interview with SportsRadio 1290 in Arizona.
