Rosala: What's next for Anthony? Why not Warriors?

The career of CarmeloAnthony takes yet another turn as his tenure in Houston comes to an end. After just 10 games with the franchise, the former All-Star forward will be looking to join a new team.

Over the next few days, the NBA world will be wondering, "Where will Carmelo go next?"

Veteran NBA insider Chris Sheridan mentions Philadelphia general manager EltonBrand and Anthony as being "tight on a personal level." He also wrote that Philadelphia will be "exercising caution and exploring all options."

Other teams mentioned to be looking at the services of Anthony are the Miami Heat, Los Angeles Lakers, New Orleans Pelicans and Portland Trail Blazers. Allow me to add in one more team, and the team that makes the most sense:

The Golden State Warriors.

The two-time defending NBA champions should be the team that takes a chance on Anthony. He is on the verge of joining his fifth team since 2017. Anthony needs a team that has a strong core of players, a head coach who is widely respected throughout the league and a team that can keep him in check with what is needed to be successful.

Since taking over as head coach in 2014, SteveKerr has been able to get his entire roster to believe in him, buy in to the system and accept the role given to them for the team to win.

Prior to the 2014 season, swingman AndreIguodala never started less than 62 games in his career. Since Kerr took over as coach, Iguodala has started a total of eight games. This move alone allowed players to believe in Kerr, and other players to buy in on roles they had never played. Kerr would use this to his advantage over the next number of years.

Bringing in All-Star forward KevinDurant, developing young players such as KevonLooney, DamianJones and QuinnCook, just to name a few. Signing All-Star center DeMarcusCousins, still recovering from a torn Achilles' tendon, shows the ability of Kerr to give players with all different personalities to buy in to a the team concept, and playing their parts to win a championship.

From two-time MVP StephCurry to the 15th man on the roster, Kerr has pushed the right buttons and has the Warriors as the heavy favorites to win another NBA title, which would be their fourth in five years. Anthony would be joining a team that has strong personalities, tons of superstar talent, but most importantly, championship pedigree.

Golden State, led by Curry along with Durant, KlayThompson and DraymondGreen, would not allow Anthony to disrupt what it has built. Those four All-Stars would lead by example, and put Anthony in a position to win his first NBA championship.

Anthony more than ever needs to be part of a team that wins the championship to claim that elusive ring he so desperately needs.

Joining the Warriors would be as step in the right direction, and allow Anthony to finally show the NBA world he can play team basketball.
