Greenberg: Bulls better with happy Butler

The big meeting has finally happened. According to K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune, Jimmy Butler finally had his long-awaited meeting with the Chicago Bulls' front office.

Butler met with both VP of basketball operations John Paxson and general manager Gar Forman. This was the first time Butler has spoken face-to-face with the Bulls' front office since the season ended and Butler went through a quick exit interview.

Butler is finally back in Chicago for the first time since the season ended. He has been training in Los Angeles. According to the Chicago Sun-Times, both sides came out “very satisfied with the direction.’’

The Sun-Times also noted that “Jimmy came away feeling appreciated and more importantly knows he’s not being shopped.’’

Going into the meeting, Butler was looking to hear of a plan moving forward, transparency and some true appreciation.

Butler has always maintained a realistic view -- that if a ridiculous trade offer comes the Bulls way, no player, including himself, is untouchable.

Butler is scheduled to leave for Europe later this month and continue his training there.
