Wade may return to Bulls, but will Butler?

According to K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune, Dwyane Wade had a positive meeting with Bulls management in Chicago on Saturday.

Wade has until June 27 to officially decide on his $23.8 million player option on if he wants to return to the Bulls next season.

Wade met with Bulls management after the Celtics eliminated the Bulls from the playoffs. Just like Jimmy Butler, the Bulls and Wade agreed that they wanted to meet again.

Johnson reports that the meeting between Wade and the Bulls covered a wide variety of topics, including the possibilities for next year’s team. It is very likely that Wade picks up his player option.

A big reason Wade came to the Bulls was because of Butler.

“Jimmy is, you know, a huge component in me being here," Wade once said. “Everyone knows that Jimmy’s my guy, and I’m here because of our conversation. But a lot of it depends on the whole big picture. Jimmy’s a big piece, but it’s a big picture as an organization."

The future of Butler on the Bulls still remains uncertain. Will Butler be in a Bulls' uniform next season? He had his big meeting with the Bulls on June 5.

According to the Chicago Sun-Times, both sides came out “very satisfied with the direction.’’ The Sun-Times also noted that “Jimmy came away feeling appreciated and more importantly knows he’s not being shopped.’’

The NBA Draft is June 22 and the Bulls have the 16th and 38th overall picks.
