Nets sign newcomer Prince to two-year contract extension

The Brooklyn Nets have signed small forward Taurean Prince to a two-year contract extension, the team announced in a news release.

The deal is worth $29 million, agent Steve Heumann told Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

Prince, 25, was acquired in a trade with the Atlanta Hawks in July.

He is 6-foot-7 and averaged 13.5 points, 3.6 rebounds and was often charged with defending the opposing team’s best wing player.

His contract calls for him to make $3.4 million next season, with a team option of $4.7 million for 2020-21.

The Nets have high hopes moving forward, having signed star point guard Kyrie Irving and forward Kevin Durant (out for the year) in free agency this past summer.
