Sources: LaVar's attempts to call shots for Lonzo may create irreparable damage

The marathon continues as it pertains to the ongoing drama associated with LaVar and Los Angeles Lakers point guard, Lonzo Ball. With reports surfacing that Lonzo has now parted ways with agent, Harrison Gaines, new developments state that LaVar has reemerged as the signal caller for Lonzo's career.

This chain of events that is unveiling to the public have been known for at least a week now. For many in the basketball world, a collective sigh of relief and cheer resounded emphatically when Lonzo announced he would become "my own man," which led to speculation he would be calling his shots from this point forward.

However, according to Chris Haynes of Yahoo, a 180 effect has occurred with LaVar back in the front and now seeking to find an agency with "more muscle" to make his dream of having all three of his sons play on the same NBA team.

While his desires are more than understandable, his delivery has virtually turned off many NBA front office executives to the point it may eventually prematurely end Lonzo's career.

As one NBA source told me, "At some point, your talent has to outweigh your bullsh--." If Lonzo blossoms to the point teams are willing to drown out the noise that is LaVar, we may see the player the Lakers envisioned him becoming.

However, the demands and the untimely explosive rhetoric from LaVar has those in NBA circles fearful of the worst. "It's possible [LaVar] will be the reason teams won't take Lonzo if he doesn't back off," another source said.

For what it's worth, the family has always appeared to be close. If you have ever been to an event where any of the Ball brothers are present, chances are you will see a multitude of family members in support.

The possibility of ruining a family brand and the closeness it embodies apparently has weighed on Lonzo -- which had a hand in bringing LaVar back to the forefront -- as well as a strong urging from LaVar himself according to sources.

This situation has many layers that are beginning to unfold and will continue as Lonzo's second NBA season comes to a close. In only a two-week period, these events alone have created endless content for their "Ball in the Family" reality show.

Time will only tell what the future holds for Lonzo and the NBA prospects for he and his brothers. With new developments happening on a regular basis, things could change any moment.

Will LaVar take a step back and allow Lonzo to handle his own affairs? Will a top agent see the vision LaVar has and promise to deliver on LaVar's dream? Who knows.

What is known is that currently there is a lot of confusion setting in the mind of a 21-year-old. With the weight of also ensuring his brothers' situations are handled accordingly, making the right decision -- or wrong -- may carry lifetime ramifications that is too much for anyone to bear.
