Valanciunas plans to join Lithuanian national team

After the NBA playoffs, Toronto Raptors Lithuanian center Jonas Valanciunas confirmed he plans to join his national team for FIBA 2019 World Cup Qualifers' June-July window.

"That is in my summer plans, to play for the national team," the five-year NBA veteran told FIBA's official website. "We have been talking with the head coach [Dainius Adomaitis] and the rest of the staff about the plan for the entire team and me personally for the next window."

During this season, Valanciunas played 77 games for the Raptors and averaged 12.7 points, 8.6 rebounds, 0.9 blocks per game. He and his Raptors teammates were swept by three-time defending Eastern Conference champion Cleveland in the second round of the playoffs, the third consecutive season the Raptors were eliminated by the Cavaliers.
