Klay wants to be ASG teammate with a Cavalier, and it's not LeBron

For the last three seasons, KlayThompson and KevinLove have been on opposing sides of what has become the NBA's best rivalry.

Now, Thompson, of the Golden State Warriors, and Love, of the Cleveland Cavaliers, would relish an opportunity to suit up on the hardwood as teammates as opposed to opponents, which they have been in the last three NBA Finals.

With the rosters for the NBA All-Star Game no longer being determined by conferences -- instead, with captains LeBronJames of the East and StepCurry of the West choosing players in a playground-style draft -- the possibility of Thompson and Love being teammates is very real.

And both hope it comes to fruition.

“I think it would be cool to play with Kevin Love because I grew up with that guy since I was 8 years old,” Thompson said during an NBA global media conference.

Love said on his Twitter account he feels the same way.

If Thompson and Love end up on the same squad for the All-Star Game, it would mark the first time... on a basketball court. However, they were teammates before, albeit more than a few years ago and in an entirely different sport -- baseball. When they were kids, Thompson and Love were both on the same Little League team in Lake Oswego, Oregon.

"To play with him in the All-Star team would be pretty special," Thompson said, adding it's "always fun" competing against Love and the Cavs.

The All-Star Game will be played Feb. 18 at Staples Center in Los Angeles.
