The Cleveland Cavaliers were incredibly active during free agency and made a number of upgrades specifically to address their lack of perimeter shooting. These moves even impressed media members at the national level. They have a solid roster heading into the season, but could still make one more move to help with their depth.

Cleveland is still lacking in their frontcourt. They traded for Damian Jones to be their backup center, but could still use a veteran big man on the roster. That role could be filled by the NBA's newest free agent, Javale McGee.

The Dallas Mavericks waived McGee on Tuesday giving him the ability to sign with whoever he pleases once he passes through waivers. He had a limited role with Dallas last season only averaging 4.4 points and 2.5 rebounds in 8.5 minutes a night. However, the 15-year veteran did show he still has some gas left in the tank playing in 49 games.

McGee doesn't need to be in Cleveland's full-time rotation to be effective. They can call on him to play against taller lineups, when Jarrett Allen or Evan Mobley get into foul trouble, or if one of their frontcourt members gets injured.

It would be a reunion for both sides if the Cavs do opt to bring back the seven-foot center. McGee spent the start of the 2020-21 season with Cleveland before the team traded him to the Denver Nuggets.

He was a well-liked player in the locker room and his valuable playoff experience would be a great addition to this version of the Cavaliers too.
