Another Difficult Stretch Coming For Cavaliers

The Cleveland Cavaliers will play their next nine of 12 games on the road.

Nothing has come easy for the Cleveland Cavaliers this season. They've suffered injury after injury and have an unfavorable schedule since the All-Star Break in terms of back-to-back. But they have, in some way, been able to fight through all of that and are currently the third seed in the Eastern Conference.

However, nothing is going to get easier from here. The Cavs are once again set to have a difficult period of games as they enter the home stretch of the regular season.

Here's what the next few weeks look like for the Cavs.

  • March 16 @ Houston Rockets
  • March 18 @ Indiana Pacers
  • March 20 Vs. Miami Heat
  • March 22 @Minnesota Timberwolves
  • March 24 @ Miami Heat
  • March 25 Vs. Charlotte Hornets
  • March 27 @ Charlotte Hornets
  • March 29 Vs. Philadelphia 76ers
  • March 31 @ Denver Nuggets
  • April 1 @ Utah Jazz
  • March 3 @ Phoenix Suns
  • March 6 @ Los Angeles Lakers

Notice a trend?

The Cavaliers are set to have an extended period of games where they'll be on the road. Yes, this is looking quite a bit into the future. But Cleveland is going to be tested with the number of road games they have on the schedule. As shown here, nine of their next 12 games will be away from Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse.

If any team can overcome this challenge, it's the Cavaliers. They currently have the second-best road record in the NBA of 20-11. The Boston Celtics lead the way with a record of 22-11.

The Cavs are certainly going to get their fair share of contests away from the court they feel the most comfortable. However, this stretch will be a nice primer for playing in hostile environments during the postseason.
